After the install, I've been trying to shutdown or reboot normally, but could only get as far as the "Windows is shutting down" screen which, of course, forced the hard shutdown. Disabling these services does not affect the usage of Nvidia video drivers, it justs disable the icon, context menu and control panel access. More cowbell...! My googles suggest it may have something to do with my network driver (using latest Realtek driver supplied by Gigabyte). check over here

It just took some more searching online. It is also happening with Shutdown & Logout commands.
